What I'm Learning
Written by a Cafe 1040 student.
I wasn’t expecting vulnerability here, but this culture is searching for something harder than anything I’ve ever seen. They have generations and generations of being deceived by false promises and empty religion.
I am learning to abide in God here. Sometimes, I get so caught up with God's calling on “my life” that it can blind me from the point of work. Make disciples in all nations, so that ALL nations can know His name.
This week I met a local who shared his story with me. It is so powerful to hear someone talk about a transformation through Christ Jesus. He has lived in this unreached people group his whole life. God is already working and is allowing you and I to be a part of His work.
I have been learning a lot from Romans lately. Romans 4:24-26 says, “But the words "it was counted to him" were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who was raised from the dead Christ Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification."
God is reminding me over and over again that I did/do not justify myself. The gospel is a common topic in our culture, but here it has almost never been talked about. It’s happening though!!
All nations are hearing the name of Jesus from workers and multiplying disciples. It all starts from learning to abide in him. When He is the goal, He gets the glory.
