My team and I had been waiting the entire semester and finally we got to spend four days in the northern mountains of base country exploring the masterpiece that is the Fathers creation. Much our time there we spent exploring forests, balancing on the sides of rice patties, and trying our best to keep up with our homestay host as she led us through the mountains in her house slippers. The mountains were a wonderfully welcome change of pace from the bustle of base town and peace of nature around us opened opportunities for us to reflect on the Fathers goodness and all that He has done throughout our time here.
RnR aside, however, the location of the trek allowed us to interact with a minority people group who, in the last 20 years have gone from a UUPG to a fully reached people group! Our host was a Christian, as well as her family and she is a member of a body of about 500 believers who meet in various house churches scattered among the mountain villages. It was so sweet to be able to see what a people group looks like after the Good News has taken root and how the Holy Spirit can work. As we hiked through the mountains our host would often stop and ask us to lift with her for the surrounding villages that have yet to come to the Father. I have been so encouraged by her faith and that of her people.
Would you pray with us for her village and the surrounding villages that those who have come to know the Father would continue to press into Him and take the Good New to those who do not know the Father?
