Our nation has witnessed a number of tragedies in recent months that have highlighted the racial inequities that still exist in our society today. As a ministry dedicated to the God-ordained value and beauty of each race, we stand heartbroken as we have witnessed the hurt and pain these inequities have caused our brothers and sisters of color. We specifically recognize that the hurt and pain that the black community is experiencing extends well beyond current events.
We acknowledge that we are far from understanding the deep emotional turmoil that these injustices cause the ethnic minority community. We desire as a ministry to grow in our understanding of these complex issues because these issues matter to Jesus. We also refuse to accept the current realities as acceptable or status quo.
We desire to grow in the diversity of our staff to better reflect the diversity of the body of Christ. We long for this ministry to more accurately reflect the body of Christ, as so beautifully illustrated throughout the Biblical narrative as a cloud of witnesses from every tribe, tongue, nation, and race. (Rev 7:9)
We want to listen. We want to learn. We want to be a part of building God’s kingdom on earth.
We exist as a ministry because we believe that the redeeming love of Jesus Christ has the power to transform lives, communities, and nations. As we pray for those who are hurting, may we lean into the all-consuming love of our heavenly Father and extend that love and grace to the world around us.
