Our team was deep into a hike into a remote village. We were on trails so our phones lost service throughout the hike. This was actually great because we had more freedom in our topics of discussions, not having to worry about who was listening. We were able to share with each other more of God’s work in our lives and hearts, as well as the impact of His beauty which we could see all around us. I found myself stopping often to absorb the breath taking view of the landscape as these lyrics filled my heart:
"When I’m standing on the mountain I didn’t get there on my own
When I’m walking through the valley I know I am not alone
You’re God of the hills and valleys, hills and valleys"
I was often reminded of how vast His power is and an understanding that there is still so much more. This created a new perspective of how small I am in this world but He still thinks of me more than all the grains of sand.
No matter what I have, Your grace is enough.
No matter where I am, I'm standing in Your love.
On the mountains, I will bow my life
To the one who set me there In the valley, I will lift my eyes to the one who sees me there.
When I'm standing on the mountain, I didn't get there on my own.
When I'm walking through the valley end, no I am not alone!
You're God of the hills and valleys! Hills and Valleys!
God of the hills and valleys And I am not alone!
